Video Maker FX

I recently came across a video making software called Video Maker FX as I was reviewing sites for affiliate links. Their promotional video caught my eye and I decided to see if it would be a usable tool for teachers. So, I bit the bullet and paid $27 to find out.

After downloading the software and installing it I sat down and created the following video in about thirty minutes.

Video Maker FX‘s sales page is set up for business people wanting to promote their products and I find their software is as well. But, while the product is heavy on business graphics it does have some powerful templates and tools. Most of the animated slides can use your graphics and some are set up for embedded video, so you can pretty make the program do what you want.

The price is good too. I compared this product to others that create this type of slide show based video. If I had created the video above on one of them I would have spent nearly as much for one presentation as I did on Video Maker FX for similar effects and features. The difference is that I spent $27 on this software one time, with nothing else to pay.

This software installs on your computer, not on a website like most of their competitors. Once you buy it, you own it. The product license allows for installation on not one, but two computers, so I put it on my desktop and my laptop.

The final product is published to an MP4 file that you can easily upload to YouTube, so that’s a plus. Many of the products out there that create video slideshows format them as Flash or HTML5, which is fine but it makes it harder to deploy. Not to mention, the mere fact that I loaded this video on our YouTube channel means its likely to be seen by many more people than if I had uploaded a Flash video to my website.

I bought this software expecting to be a little disappointed but I have to say it has done everything the promotional site promised. The software is designed to be easy to use, and it really is. Those who want to be able to really customize things may be not be as happy as the ease of use precludes a lot of tinkering. I found that there were so many templates, animations, and styles that it wasn’t really a problem for me (and I am a tech geek).

One side note for you – if you do decide to purchase this product then do so in Firefox because their order page and the subsequent download page fails to work properly in Chrome.

Visit the Video Maker FX site to preview and purchase this product.
